Duty at Zarraga ^ ^ (hospital soon! harhar...)

As the campaigning period has officially begun (and might extend up to the 1st week of March... tsk...) and my REFORM partymates were around CPU (also except Reymar who's in the Ayala Young Leaders - he's Obama daw, Gov of CO Engineering lolz),

I was in Zarraga for our RLE duty (community). This will be our last (I think for now...) since we will be making duty afterwards in Iloilo Mission Hospital (isn't it nice?!, I'll tackle more of this soon! hehe.)

Some groups had 4 duties, but we only had 3. There's really a lot to learn from them. hahaha!
1st year students, when you go on duty there, Never forget of NOT BRINGING gifts to your assigned houses... u'll understand soon, because we tried to include it in our agenda & objectives yesterday - and one of our CI's got mad. But I must agree with her.

She states that "this is a dole-out method, dapat transformatory na ta ya!" Hehe. We understood that she just wants to avoid conflict in the community, and that we must do things right. I'm it was a relief since she understood that we just want to share... "but you must understand that you are students palang! they would understand you - unfair na ya sa iban nga indi ka afford." she added.

If we wanted to give gifts daw, we do it to all of the community to avoid conflicts. I agree maam!
hehehe. I mean, who wouldn't? Her experience in years have gained her expertise on those matters.

On a lighter note, (HAHAHAHAHAHA!)
yesterday, it was a first for us in visiting the Sua-an's Residence there in Purok Ilaud, we couldn't  stand (and sit down, lol) not embracing their cute and cuddly children, hehehe!

At some point, it was sort of like a break for moi, since I can really feel the pressure (paramore? haha) from things around me in school. Haha.

You know why I love children? I just couln't avoid seeing myself in them - what and who I was before... How it feels like being a child...

Ya know, they don't have the sorts of problem that we have, trials, their innocence and etc... and their parents are just there beside them at most of the time of their day.

But as we grow, of course, things change... time flies... and more things continue to change,
the challenge is for us to go with the flow (haha! don't get me wrong on this!)
and continue to be better persons as we can be. diba!? chars.

Anyways, that's part of what I really wanna pour out. haha! Since I have a very tight schedule in the upcoming weeks, I have to say bye for now, but please - keep urself stay tuned. I'll be back for more. hahaha!

The one in yellow is a boy - lantawa bala milok ya! hahahaha. And the one bellow is Maggy, xempre gurlash. Jessa, Sharmila & moi really enjoyed the company of that family. hehehe!

Meet Gino or Onig... haha, binaliktad!
I hope that this wouldn't be our last time to see them. I mean, for a short period of time that we've spent with them, our hearts really fell with them. I hope that they will always be in good condition and their family as well. Diba? Tani they will grow up to be good citizens of our society as well - as what we want to see in every child of our country and the world. hehe.

Together with the people below (and Petersen Lim who's not on the pics, be he is on the official pics - the photo below is just a test shot seconds before he arrived ), we filed our COC's for the upcoming CPUR elections.

The official list of qualified candidates will be released this Friday by the CPUR COMELEC. I have nothing to justify naman with my grades ah, hehehehe! char.

I just feel so excited about this... haizt... Hope that Reform members (old and new) will all be there later.

The agenda in this assembly are the oath of membership of old and new members including Reform's candidates for the 2010 CPUR Elections; presentation of campaign message and platform; introduction of Reform candidates for the CPUR 2010 Elections; and election of the Reform Party Executive Committee Officers.

The Sacrifice

I went to a place so far away,
T'was a place where many pine trees grow;
So breath-taking,
I just couldn't resist taking a part of that wonder back home.

A sojourn that means a lot to me,
It's where I keep on finding relief and comfort;
And though it's my third,
I just keep on coming back.

Before I left,
I asked myself,
"Is there something I bought that would remind me of those Baguio spectacles?"
So symbolic that it will just be like me.

Alas! a 10-peso tree will do.
It's there in the very heart of Burnham,
On the day before my "happiest of 2009",
On that week when a superb atmosphere was into me.

Knowing that travelling with a green something has requirements,
I tried my best to comply whatever it takes.
Anyways I won't ride a vessel,
And I was right - I love the NAIA Terminal 3!

Being a person whose into a lot of green stuffs,
my hands can't just plant cacti and etc.,
I adore and cherish every piece of greenery I like,
As long as I'm in the mood - it's a therapy.

As I took those steps towards my personal growth,
I know that life after that break may just be similar since my first retreat;
As I trust in it's capacity to grow greater just as my potentials as a person,
I put my faith to it.

Several weeks after it manifested growth and development,
A process of improving and beautifying our home accidentally(?) killed it;
All that I could utter out were curses and blame,
I couldn't bare the disappointment.

Whatever is it that I'm into right now,
It's not because my faith in that little tree has died;
It's just that I planted it deep within my heart and soul,
To where it will continue to flourish and be of purpose.

Many thanks to that very special person who in one way or another have inspired me to dream beautifully and big,
but its time for me to wake up and apply those things to what I do. I can't just allow things to lead into a nightmare.

I will always remember you as a beautiful dream, something that I had even for just a piece of time thinking that it was real
- but it will always remain a dream.

Like a Rizal that you are within me,
I can just apply the good things I got,
I already made sure that I won't get inflicted much by the pain
- thanks to my family & friends who continue to trust, support and love me.

Loosing that Pine Tree isn't loosing myself.
I just paved a way wherein I may grow up and be someone greater.
It that something I can be requires a sacrifice,
So what if it's you.

Waking up takes one step...
Moving on requires effort...
Looking ahead needs commitment into something...
Keeping the Flame burning craves Passion...
and consistency depends on how we make up on the things we missed.

These 5 simple things above can just lead me
Straightforward and Upward.

Reform Party

 REFORM is about us.

Let us be the change that we want to see in our school and society, let us take part in every endeavor that brings out the best in us.

WE are the catalysts of change - and we want to see positive results. Are you among us?

Be a REFORMist now! Because your simple participation and awareness can help make the life of a CENTRALIAN worth defining and meaningful.

Let's make our stay in CENTRAL PHILIPPINE UNIVERSITY worthwhile.

Reform is about God, our beloved CPU and us. So let's not hesitate to speak our minds and our hearts. Let us strengthen our bonds and be one in our aspirations & goals.

We want to YOU to enact positively along with us in order to uplift and take a notch higher the CENTRAL SPIRIT that burns within each and everyone of us and give due credit to our prestigious institution for being the venue where we can make our dreams come true and be the reality that we wished before.

"Destiny is not a matter of chance - but a matter of choice."

Be not blinded by the glitters and sparks of the promises that will come about you in the near future but LET US PUT OURSELVES ONE into the movement for a better CENTRAL, the advancement of QUALITY Leadership among us all and the supreme undertaking of every student in TAKING A STEP towards seeing the positive things that we just ought to dream for, building a stronger foundation and network that we never expected and thought to be a greater potential among us all and finally, discovering our innate abilities and skills to foster, mold and become the greater and better individuals that we can be.

the LaTest.

Hello Friday! It's been awhile after the famed Dinagyang Festival 2010 has been concluded (I recommend my fellow Iloilo Bloggers, Marcos and Junjun's Dinagyang coverage at Explore Iloilo and GigsIlonggo ). After making a little taray-taray at SM watching le Fireworks for 2 evenings and the downtown Iloilo City itself, I'm back to the normal life of a student. Char. Haizt... that's life. ^ ^

* * *
Before I go on, I'd like to Congratulate Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School for winning this year's Iloilo Dinagyang Ati Tribe Competition. They have consistently won the competition for three straight years already - in short, GRANDSLAM! And in the coming Aliwan Fiesta at the CCP, Pasay City on April 22-24, they will again represent Iloilo City along with Tribu Kasag (Champion, Kasadyahan Festival 2010) and Angelie Joy Golingan (Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2010) for the Reyna ng Aliwan Pageant.

The following awards that they garnered are the following: Best in Headress, Best in Costume, Best in Music, Best Musical Director (my cousin Bunsoy - Raymund Ferolino), Best in Choreography (and Choreographer), and Best in Performance.

Other awards went to Tribu Pan-ay (Fort San Pedro National High School) - Best in Discipline and Best in Streetdancing. For the Major Awards, Tribu Silak of Iloilo City National High School won 4th Runner-up, Tribu Salgnon of Jaro National High School won 3rd Runner-up, Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School won 2nd Runner-up and Tribu Bola-Bola of Iloilo National High School (Division of Iloilo & Iloilo Province) won 1st Runner-up. For the complete set of winners, just check out the EI or GI. hehehe.

In General, this year's performance of the 16 competing tribes in the Ati-ati Tribe competition were really good as compared to the previous years, it took the Dinagyang Festival a notch higher and proved the worth of the Dinagyang Festival as the 1st Festival to be included in the Hall of Fame (grandslam) for the Best Tourism Event in the Philippines.

Seeing the 1st 4 tribes competing at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand and the rest in our TV back home, I (and my papa...) kinda noticed that there were some sort of similarities between the tribes' performaces, music and even the costumes that I believe was innovated by the Paghidaet Tribe, but despite this, they still stood best above the rest. I just believe that they deserved it, their performance was really breath-taking actually.

Last Tuesday, we had our 2nd AHSE exposure in the community in the not-soo-very-far Municipality of Zarraga, my was to go around the assigned houses of the team's paired members (and check out their food. JOKE! Lolz) and ensure that everything's just going smooth. We are tasked to gather information thingy or le survey (just like in NSTP before) and do things that can simply make the best (as in the most quality) of our time spent there by helping out some house chores and everything (not really all!). hehehe.

AMong the 10+ or less houses that I've been going back and forth to, I like staying most at Natalie and Jaysa's assigned house at Lola Gregoria's. MMMMMMMMMMM............................... wala na itong ibig sabihin ha! Kaloka talagang mga echosera jan,. hahahahaha)

She's the 90+ old woman at the photo in the previous post about our first community exposure 2 weeks ago. She was a teacher and was a Principal at a school where I don't have an idea as of now. Anyways we'll get back to her after 2 weeks naman coz on the next Tues it's Jaro Fiesta and we don't have classes. Bongga diba? But really, Jaro's history is really bonggaceous that I don't feel like discussing right now. hahahaha. discover nyu. Anybody from Jaro, u guys invite me to ur house ha? hahahaha. CHAR!

* * *
This week, the Sambayanang Centralians (ilang percent?) is also having the Christ Emphasis Week for this sem with the theme: Live like Jesus. It has come up with something new this sem, it's not just in the "CooL" Rose Memorial Auditorium where we have the venue, since last Tuesday, it had simultaneous convocations catered by different colleges at venues like the Engeneering AVR, University Church and etc. Today, for the Closing Program-Convo, it will all be held back at RMA. It's been 3 days that our college (CON) has been at the RMA for the morning convo at 10 am.

I didn't really like that idea first but I guess it was a good thing bringing the convo closer to each colleges.. but I don't know with others, hehehe. Of course, in EVERYthing, there's just good and the not-so-good. It's impossible to please everyone, but at least we must be optimistic always and not to forget in looking forward to seek God first at all times. Ya know, he's just there always... ^ ^

* * *
Last Wednesday, my dear Lola Georgia arrived along with my step Grandpa (an American-Jewish faithful and loving man to my grandma dear - Mr. Maurice Isaac). It's been 2 years since they've had their vacation here and their 1st one (as a couple) was pretty much memorable to moi. hehehehehe. It wasn't hard getting close to grandpa since he is a good person- mind you, he talks a lot about the God and His word always! hehehehe!

At present, they live in Yucca Valley, California, USA. With my father here right now and my tita Gingging and cousin Erika from Singapore coming home soon, it will be a blast! hahahahaha. This rarely happens ya know. I'll just have to slice myself into 3 or 4 perhaps in the coming weeks. Hahahaha. I'm also glad that I was able to use some of the transferring techniques from and to the car (It just popped out of my head! hehehehe) for my grandpa since he's now dependent on the wheelchair unlike before when he used to walk a little. He's heavy ya know. hehehehe. But I love that old man. He's really nice.

After these family affairs and the something that I'll be participating in CPU this coming week (to be revealed later this afternoon....), me and my sistah Georieca will be having a little break from school and all the stuff here to a place not-so-far away. (I'm soooo excited!) hehehe! The tickets are here.

But before that I'll have to (kill?) maybe stress? burden, crunch, distend, force, fret, hassle, overdo, overextend, pull, put in traction, put on trial, spring, strain, stretch, tense, tense up, traumatize, worry? abateease, ease off, ebblax, let up, loose,loosen, lose speed, lowermitigatemoderate,modifymodulatereducerelieveremitslack, slacken, slow, slow down, untighten or which appropriate word that you may guess myself in order to cope up with my studies and a LITTLE extra-curricular activities, hahahaha!

Charms. It'll just be grace under pressure! hahahaha. I hope so. I'm not ME if not into these y'know.... hehehehe... since HS. But of course, I'm a student! I can never forget that. ^ ^

* * *
A lot of things will be pretty exciting in the coming weeks. It's the Pre-finals in the near future but before, in between and after that a lot of things will take place at CPU, there's the CPUR day where they have the Alternative Classes around the campus and on the same day, we will have our Nursing Day also.

The Nursing Student Council prepared a lot of things to watch out and enjoy for. The Games every Saturday have started (and we're very proud of our batch - the sophomores for giving out their best and winning (and if not, at least we know they tried hard and we're still behind them) a lot of competitions last Saturday, hopefully next Sat. again.

We will have motorcade around Jaro and La Paz again, Picnik, and a lot of Talent Showdowns and other competition to watch out for. We have prepared for our yellow t-shirts already (this competition is between sections and will have points for the year levels if ever they win), With the help of everyone at Section 2-F, I'm glad that we've made a unified decision on some matters regarding this - nakakaloka talaga before! hahahaha. Btw ha, we had our shirts done in San Gregorio Subdivision at La Paz. MMMMMMMMMMM............................... wala na itong ibig sabihin ha! Kaloka talagang mga echosera jan,. hahahahaha) CHAR!

But really I'm very happy that we're one with our endeavors. That's one reason for celebrating this year's Nursing week, having that spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among ourselves and the other sections and year levels (even our CI's) in establishing and maintaining that good atmosphere of healthy competition and oneness among us.
On the rightmost is Paul Delgado Cortez, Isidro's close friend and a candidate this evening for Mr. West Visayas State University 2010 at Jaro Gymnasium. They are Pol Sci students. The best of Luck to Paul, GJ Pacete, to all the candidates and the organizers of Mr. and Miss WVSU 2010 siempre led by Michael Jordan Toledo. ^ ^
Dinagyang Festival:

That belongs to Mr. Leo Solinap of Blue Screen. hehehehe. The pic below was displayed at the exhibit of Miss Iloilo Dinagyang at Robinson's Place.
